As a CW and SSB user I noticed going from one end of the band (40m initial
alignment) to the other with the K2 tuning knob was less than graceful. I
decided to try the suggestion of buying the FT-100 knob. Boy what a
difference, the size of the knob is the same size as the stock knob but
looks and feels a lot better - soft rubber shell. You can now use just your
index finger to quickly turn the tuning knob from one end of the band to the
other. I got it within 2 days and it cost $16 US, well worth it. I suspect
you CW only guys that stick to the low end of the bands this is not a big
deal.
Just use a pair of needlenose pliers to break off the small plastic pin
within the shaft of the FT-100 knob and it fits perfectly onto the K2 tuning
shaft. You need a 1.5 mm hex wrench to tighten the FT-100 knob.
