[Elecraft] Just kitting

I have to admit that the fun of assembling a kit is still there for me. Like
putting a puzzle together. It has to be the same for others.

The product that Elecraft (and others) sell is the kit building experience,
not radios. Elecraft just happens to do a better job of it than most!

In this world of disposable cell phones, a low power hf radio kit would seem
anachronistic. But it's not. A kit "humanizes" technology. It's art and
it is solely for our enjoyment. There is no need to put a price on it and
call it an asset or a liability. That's for Elecraft to do as a business;
not for us kit consumers.

Modern technology has taken the "magic" out of RF and reduced it to an
equation running in a DSP chip for profit. The colors of radio are shifting
toward gray. We don't have to follow...

I will always have excitement for a well-designed electronic kit.
