[Elecraft] Possible Info 080 problem v3

Hi again,

Well I have narrowed down the problem, to the IOC:

1st: The power supply related stuff is not at fault as the rig was working 
earlier.
2nd: The 'Auxbus' connection between the IOC and MCU is not broken.
3rd: The MCU still works, as the oscillator is going and all the other 
functions still work.

Then I tried a '4,5,6' reset, the rig shows 'INFO 201' then shows 'elecraft' 
quickly and goes back to 'INFO 080', following this the LCD now shows 
garbled codes (I don't think I should have reset :( ) for most of the 
options.

So looks like I will have to get a replacement IOC, also do I need to worry 
about the MCU after the reset I did with the funny chars on the LCD?

(Just to note the firmware supplied with the kit is version 2, but with 
MCU[2.01H] and IOC[2.55] after I had reset the kit [so not sure if chars are 
being displayed right])
