I too have an 850 set up for a/b comparisons with the K2.  My 850 has a pair of
400 Hz INRAD filters.  

1) I agree that the K2 does better with weak signals in the presence of manmade
noise, even without the noise blanker.   

2) The K2's noise blanker seems to be effective on more types of noise than that
of the 850.  

3) The K2's noise blanker is less susceptible to deactivation by strong nearby
signals than that of the 850.

4) However, on a very quiet band it is possible to narrow the 850's passband
much more than the K2 (using the INRAD filters and the 850's notch), and
increase the gain to compensate.  Under these conditions, a weak signal is
easier to read on the 850.
