Also, I was thinking of getting the SSB and 160Meter option boards before
I get my K2 to get me started. Do I need to have the K2 in order to
build them properly?

==================================

You could build the 160 meter module. It's very simple and has 2 torriods to
wind :-) It should only take you about one hour to build. The SSB is another
story. It's one of the more difficult modules to build (many parts in a very
small space on both sides of the board) I would get some practice on the
radio first then tackle the SSB. Keep in mind all of the modules are useless
without the radio and cannot even be tested. If you must build something
before you get your K2. Try the OHR QRP Wattmeter or Dummy load. They will be
handy when you need to setup and align your K2.
