I made up this keying ckt with a couple of transistors I found in my junk
box and now my K2 will happily key my ACOM 1000 amp perfectly, be aware
that the later K2 firmwares have a couple of additional options for
external amp keying, this is NOT required but simply provides even more
control over timings for non break in operation.
The K2 drives the acom1000 to between 200 & 300 watts on all bands, this
sort of output power almost makes makes me get out as well as the K2 can
hear, a properly set up K2 is a very fine receiver indeed.

the kit just makes it neater than using junk box parts and a little piece
of breadboard
