The benefits of the filter for SSB are largely the passive low pass filter 
that is always there, gets rid of residual hiss. AF1 and AF2 are way too 
narrow for SSB use, although some report using AF1, an overall loss of 
output is typical. (It really wasn't meant for SSB)
