I use the smaller unit ( 5 watt model ) with a controller. Its about 16
x 20 inches. It puts out about a 1/4 amp or so in av use. 
I run it into a 3000mahr C cell pack which I found to be the best
power/size ratio for carry.
It will keep the pack up during the day while in use with low power rigs
and will run the k2 on rx ( sunlight a must of course :)  ).

Nice thing is because of the waterproof/flex of the unit, I velcro it on
to the top back of my pack and it charges while hiking... I also use the
pack to power a few LEDS for light in the tent at night.
