Hello George and others
I live on a very small lot, with antenna space of about 60 ft wide by 50 ft
deep (the back half of the lot, includes air space over house).
In this little space I have a pair of 50 ft dipoles I run phased on 40m, 30m
and 20m. This array faces east. I also have one 40m dipole facing N-S for
working the west coast.
I recently put up a 160m antenna, 40 ft tall, with 5 30 ft top loading
wires.

I admit all this looks like I have built a trap to comb birds out of the
air. But it all works.

Rod, could you elaborate on this point a little? Few people using wire
antennas can achieve much if any gain over a dipole since they seldom have
the room and other facilities required to erect a wire beam or a steerable
array of some sort.

I use a pair of 20-meter EDZ's mounted at right angles to take advantage of
the directivity but the gain, except on 20 where it is 3 db, is negligible
on 40, for example.

So, what "wire antennas" do you recommend to obtain "antenna gain?"
