To all that provided the solution.... THANKS.

So, humbly (pass another serving of that crow, please...), I too have 
joined the ranks of the "S1 accidentally switched" fraternity.  We sit 
humbly before our K2's, sorry we've forgotten about the little used S1, 
and even sorrier we let the whole Internet know of our ignorance, as 
expressed in some panicked email message to this wealth of experts. (Could 
you pass the crow again?)

Moving on, the "2nd Xfil Mod for Flatter SSB Response" makes a aural 
difference.  (Also visible too on Spectragram.)

And, to some who were concerned about reversing P6 to the "correct" 
position, Yes, I did reverse the cable pins to the ATU to match.

A calm has settled once again over the shack.  K2 #2033 is alive once 
again with the sweet crackle of the ethers - distant signals from far away 
and exotic places magically transported into my home.  Someday I might get 
to visit these places, but for now, Amateur Radio will have to be my 
transportation.
