hi got the replacement ic i/o controller to day  whent to do alignment and 
test,part 1
i had all sorts of funnies on the display i even tryed the control boad out 
of my other 
k2 and hay all worked well so i then tryed the new control boad in my old k2 
and it
still  showed funnies  so i put my k2-791 back together all working ok and 
had a
think about my new k2 oh bingo try a reset of the k2s eeprom wow its all ok 
now
so 2337 has now passed the first part ..now at last i can get back to the fun
of putting this k2 together, thanks elecraft guys for the replacement parts a
