That is the "hang time" for the VOX in seconds - the length of time that the
K2 stays in TX mode after you quit talking.

Have you tried increasing the value of R14 at the input of the SSB module to
help with your Heil mic gain? I can't speak from experience with a Heil mic,
not having one myself, but many ops including myself found our mics had too
little gain. Increasing the value of R14 to 5K ohms solved the problem for
me.
