I wouldn't recommend this procedure to someone who described himself as an
"appliance operator" looking for a simple way to use a DX-40 with his K2.

You didn't even get into the issues of ensuring the operation was linear for
someone used to flipping on the power switch of a modern rig.

But it's a matter of judgement, I guess. I'd call you a homebrewer, not an
"appliance operator" Hi!
