[Elecraft] Vern's two antennas MP-1 vs. PW-1

Anyone know what the big difference is between the two portable antennas =
that Vern has created for the K2 and K!. I have the earlier PW-1 which =
looks identical to the new improved MP-1 except for the collapsible whip =
at the top vs. the stainless steel one foot sections (3-4).

I imagine that the portable tripod base can be used with either model of =
Vern's antenna. The earlier version (PW-1) did not come with his =
frequency adjusting chart for the slide coil. Does the newer version =
perform any differently?

I bought my PW-1 in 2000 at the Elecraft booth from Vern. can you =
substitute the collapsible whip for the screw together sections? Any =
help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
