Dave, the hole on S/N 1289 is 11 mm in diameter.

It seems to me that there was also some discussion in the past about power
plugs that were close, but not exactly the right size, causing intermittent
problems. I'm sorry, but I can't recall the details.

From the outset, I was unhappy with the size of wire that could be used and
still mount the plastic shell back on the plug. So I dispensed with the
shell, used what I felt was a suitable weight of wire for the current being
drawn, and simply put a piece of shrink wrap over the center pin and solder
joint to ensure that the power supply couldn't be shorted by a wire or
connector loose behind the radio.
