Nobody tosses high enough. Buy a sling-shot, a spinning reel, some =
little hose-clamps and some 3/4 oz lead fishing weights (helmet and =
safety glasses if you choose). Mine spinning reel cost $4.95 and failed =
last weekend after 15 useful years. I got over two, 50 foot trees (20 =
feet apart) on the last "toss" that reel was up to. Gonna buy another =
one this week, just in case. Pull masons twine up with the monofilament, =
(for keeps, if temporary) and pull the "real" line up wid dat.

Hey gang,
When tossing a random end over the tent and into the trees, what is =
pretty much the minimum useful length. How long for a counterpoise. I =
am using the ATU and am planning on working as many bands as possible =
10-80.
Thanks,
WA5PB,
Bill Allen
