I like the K2 knob also.

I also like the present resolution of the knob in fine tuning stations.
But for large excursions across the band of 50 or 100 kHz, I have to use 
the rate button.

A possible new feature would be an auto rate change after one or two 
fast turns of the knob.  It would certainly make my knob spins shorter 
and my use of the rate button would drop way down.  And it would drop 
back to slow speed as soon as I stopped moving the knob.
