The publicity for the past two years that I've been following it is that the
KPA100 is a part of the K2 just like the Noise Blanker or the Antenna Tuner
or the Battery Pack or ...

The K2 was designed as a rig that would take the KPA100 to function as a 100
watt transceiver if that's what the builder wants. Leave it off and you have
a 10 watt transceiver.

You choose what you want in YOUR K2 and that's what you buy. The KPA100 is
as much a "part" of every K2 built in the past as it is of any K2 that will
be sold in the future - it's just that those who want the KPA100 in their K2
up until now have had to wait for it. In the future buyers will be able to
order it along with the rest of the K2.

The one thing that the KPA100 will NOT do is function on its own. As an
integral part of the K2 design, it requires connection to the K2
microprocessor to function.
