[Elecraft] k1 advice

Since my power supply died a tragic death 5 or 6 years ago, I've been using
a deep cycle marine battery to power all of my radio needs. My original one
was ancient when I got it for free and it worked great until a couple months
ago, and I bit the bullet and replaced it with a new one. Up until recently
my main radio was a TS-130s, but now it's my backup and my new K1 is my
primary. Let me tell you, with the K1, I only need to hook up the charger
about once in a blue moon. I'm thinking now about hooking up a solar panel
and letting that trickle-charge the battery, and I'll probably never need to
get my charger out again.
Not very portable (unless you're Paul Bunyan), but for the dorm? Maybe.
