[Elecraft] Thoughts on split VFO's

I think these comments make sense from my experience. I have two additional
comments.
I personally dislike blinking lights. They are very distracting, especially
when spending long hours in front of the radio. Blinking lights should be
reserved for those functions that require operator attention ... after which
the blinking stops!
Because these split and RIT/XIT UI will be done in firmware, I recommend
making the configuration user selectable. Different people and different
operating applications (DX, contesting, casual rag chewing, etc.) will want
different UI configurations. For example, as a DX station, I might prefer
to enable a state where my transmit frequency is locked and the main VFO
knob becomes the RIT. (idea compliments of N5KO)
