[Elecraft] Thoughts on split VFO's

While thinking out the blinking LED when in split mode, I mentally
explored it all a little further and have some other points for possible
modification or at least consideration.
For one, I think it would be a very good idea to disable the RIT/XIT
capabilities whenever is split mode. I can't see how the user benefits
from having both at the same time, but I sure can see further ways to
embarrass myself.
Also, I think it would be good to have the radio set up so that in split
mode, the user can only transmit on VFO "B". In other words VFO A has to
be the primary receive frequency. You could still press the "A/B" button
to have a listen on the other side of course. What would this do - it
would prevent us from transmitting on a DX station's frequency when the
operator is listening up.
I believe all this could be changed by minor changes in firmware coding
- but I always try to remember that is easy to say because I am not the
one who would do it.
Do these proposals make sense to other operators who use "Split" a lot?
