[Elecraft] Split Indicator - add an LED?

What's the possibility of "retrofitting" one of the front panel pushbuttons 
with one that has an embedded LED to avoid having to drill any additional 
holes?

--- What would it take to put a small red LED (or some other egonomic color)
on the front panel of the K2 (or K1) to be lighted when in split mode?
Perhaps flashing? I would drill a small hole and mount it just to the
right of the word 'SPLIT' on the K2 front panel.
