[Elecraft] K1 & K2 Rx question

Hi folks -
When I recently asked about tube rugs vrs modern rigs I received an interesting response from one owner. He said that the K2 was designed so that while the K2 is actually receiving, in effect, all potential digital "noise sources" within the rig are momentarily turned off - thus allowing for a very quiet receiver. I think I have paraphrased this correctly. If not, maybe someone could clarify. My question is this: is the K1 designed to do this very same thing in receive as the K2? Thanks and 73/Tim NZ7C
