A very good reason NOT to do that is that you will not see such things as:

o Elecraft announced changes (e.g., the mod that was recently rescinded 
and replaced by another mod).  Of course, you can search them out if you 
visit the website regularly

o Builder identified enhancements -- which have, in some cases, become 
official Elecraft mods.

One of the reasons I build the Elecraft kits is to be able to maintain 
and upgrade them.  The reflector is the very best source of such info.

Can't disagree with your statistics.  But I rather enjoy part of the 50% 
.. though I seldom read it all.
