Please excuse the bandwidth.
I have been following the Elecraft reflector for a month or so and
just received a K2/100 for a present. The average number of messages
per day on the reflector seems to be ~60. My estimates are:
10% actual K2 technical questions and answers
10% actual K1 technical questions and answers
20% comments to technical questions without any new technical content
50% comments about MOJO Bull--it, stupidity if you run more than 5w,
ethnic heritage, basic chest pounding upon kit completion etc.
10% other
Granted anyone can delete unwanted email but coming home after being away
for a week with 300 email messages is crazy. Would others appreciate
some reflector rules and possibly breaking the reflector into groups,
e.g. K2 only technical, K1 only technical, General discussion area for
chest pounding, QRP merits, etc. As usual there are individuals whose
response always interesting and worthwhile and there are also people who
respond to nearly every comment without ever having anything worthwhile to
say. This happens on all reflectors and rather than banning some people
it seems more appropriate to break up the topics into multiple groups.
Those people who want every Elecraft message could subscribe to all the
reflectors. Does this make sense or am I in the minority?
As it currrents stands after I build my K2 I will unsubscribe to the
reflector. Thank you for your time.
