[Elecraft] which K1 bands?

Gee. Two bands. This question sounds like one I had myself!

I didn't get the K1 until the 4 band version came out, and this question is
a good reason why. I know it's $70 more than the 2 band version, but that
is only really $35 per band extra. In my easy-to-rationalize-ham-expenses
brain ... this was a no brainer.

I had to have 40, no question. And I had to have 20, no question. And of
course, I had to have 30. And, I sure like 17.

Lunchtime QSOs from the rental car during business trips ... a 4" or 5"
diam. 3/8"-24 stud mag mount starts to couple to ground pretty well between
10 and 14 MHz. I take my PW-1. You can always find somebody on 20 (14060
+/- is almost as reliable as a cell phone). 17 is nearly always fun, too,
and there's usually some nice DX.

For nighttime Qs, 30 is a blast because you are out in the clear - and
everyone else there is having just as much fun as you are. And on 40, there
are an almost infinite supply of interesting people (and rigs! for
example...  http://smallwonderlabs.com/Rockmite.htm ;
http://www.qsl.net/kd6cc/glowbug/ ; http://www.glowbugkits.com/) on 7030 and
7040.

The not-so-subtle message, I guess, is: it's WELL worth the extra $35
(each...) for the two bonus bands. This is equivalent to brown-bagging at
work 2 or 3 weeks.
