I frequently use my K2/100 in PSK-31 nets at the 50W level. During most transmissions, the heat sink gets hot enough that the fan kicks in and stays on for a bit after the transmission ends but I can always place my hand on the heat sink and leave it there. I have not noticed any significant drift during these sessions but most PSK software has an AFC function for net use that lets you track the transmitting station without manual retuning. The only times I have had reports of being off frequency was with one of the datamode (mode "r") filters that I need to realign with spectrogram. When that filter was cut in, my transmit frequency was about 50 Hz off the receive frequency. I have noticed that the actual tone frequency moves around during the net by as much as 100 Hz but that is a combination of all the stations on the net. During normal PSK QSOs, I have not noticed any significant drift, at least on 80, 40 and 20 meters.
Still, while the rig is on the bench to split the KPA100 into an EC-2 with the KAT100, I am going to add the VFO/BFO stability mods.
