Folks:

I really enjoyed this one, with the results far exceeding what I
thought was possible with 5W and 160M.

Rig: K-2 5w
Antenna 44 foot vertical, top fed, top loaded with
fat top wires, 1600 SQ. feet of radials (galvanized Fencing)

I'll be on for the whole duration in the upcoming ARRL 160M
contest, but QRO at 100W.

If you need a SD QSL, I QSL 100% on all cards received *IF*
you send along an SASE.

My only error in this event was to have probably
gotten on too late. I have only operated 160M
3 times previously, and never with QRP. K9AY
had a really FB signal all during my contest stay.
After about 2 hours, there was no one left
to work so I gave it up. Judging by the amazingly
high signal levels, activity was very high. I NEVER
would have believed that 5W signals on 160M
could be so loud and constant. AG0T, Todd in ND
had a very respectable signal all evening here.
Lastly it would seem that I have a very low
noise level here at this rural QTH. I was
able to copy several stations who never even
heard me, a good indication, as I am on a
 vertically polarized receiving antenna here,
which should be a bit more prone to noise. I
would love to see as many participants as
possible list their antennas that they used.
Rig here, K-2 at 5W. Antenna is top loaded
44 foot vertical, 5 top hat wires, and 80M
dipole used for loading. Radials 1600 SQ.
feet of chicken wire, laid out as spokes
on a wheel from the base. Base is at
ground potential, fed from top of vertical.
No tuners or traps used. I am really up
for the ARRL contest this weekend!
