[Elecraft] Analyze this! Self-repairing K2

I hacked the rev A control board as required for the Serial port 
option and got no sidetone. After fixing a dumb wiring error I got a 
VERY WEAK, almost inaudible sidetone even with sidetone level at max..

However, over the next two weeks it got steadily stronger, day by 
day. It is now much louder than necessary so I have dialed the level 
way back. It seems to have repaired itself, gradually.

I'm not making this up, honest.

I wrote the first book on self-detection of faults by logic circuitry 
many years ago, but this is the first time I have seen a 
self-repairing digital system. I know the K2 is a great design, but 
really , , ,
