OK, then try this....

After initiating a K2 tune cycle, adjust the power control. The K2 will 
(for now...I think this is going to change) change its output from 
20W. See if that doesn't cause something to happen (LDG tune 
cycle, smoke, sparks, etc......  :-)  )

I would set the power output to 30W before initating the tune cycle 
so that the power doesn't jump from 20W to, say......, 90W.
