While you are fabricating make it large enough to fit the KAT100 also mak=
ing one K2/100/AT100 mini rack mount. All you need is some Elecraft paint=

Something I've thought about would be to fabricate two new side panels ou=
t of
aluminum.  They would be longer than the stock panels and would extend fo=
rward
past the front panel just far enough to protect the knobs.  This would be=
 very
easy to do, since these panels are just rectangles with a few holes in th=
em.
