[Elecraft] Radio Shack Part No. 278-102

Greetings from 'down-under'.
Just before the recent closure of theTandy chain in Australia, I
purchased a number of gold plated, solder-less, twist on type BNC
plugs for RG58 cable --- Radio Shack Part No. 278-102 --- which looked
like the greatest thing since girls (well almost). Maybe it's my
arthritic fingers but I've only succeeded in screwing in about 3/8
inch of cable, insufficient for anything to connect.
Is there some trick to loading these things that this antipodean has
failed to recognise?
