[Elecraft] Optivisor

Guess I've been around this "board" too long, because I'm starting to
repeat stories such has my experience with an Optivisor.

I used my Optivisor repairing mobile radios in the 80's. E.F. Johnson
and GE stuff full of SMC's. High bench (to save the back, like
watchmaker's use) an Optivisor and I can work quickly and comfortably
for hours.

Good features:

1- Binocular vision (I'll never elect to peer through a single lens
again!)

2 - Fits OVER any eyeglasses you wear (I use it with and without
reading glasses to vary the strength).

3- Excellent lens quality in a choice of strengths.

4 -Lightweight, you don't know you have them on after a while.

5 - And when you look up to read a meter or see the 'scope screen, you
just flip 'em up out of the way. The headband is hinged so you don't
have to take them off. And that's where they are truly dangerous.

As a single guy back then, I enjoyed chatting with the single women in
the office and being "cool". Master of mountain top repeaters, king of
the fixit gang who could rescue the company with my soldering iron in an
instant should a broken radio appear. True, "Radio Cool..."

Imagine how I felt the day I walked into the office and as I passed the
women who worked there they all slowly turned and watched me. Smiles on
EVERY face! Wow!

Then there were BIG smiles. Chuckles... Laughter!

I had forgotten to take the Optivisor off and was walking around with
the darn thing standing up on top of my head.

No more cool.

Careful, dudes... careful...
