[Elecraft] "wasted $500 on this K1" owner - progress troubleshooting?

I don't have the old mail saved but someone recently lamented
having blown $500 on the K1, terrible audio, problems with 
construction -- to this owner: if you've had any progress
troubleshooting please let the List know! The K1 is a great
little rig and I agree with others who said you had a problem
in the assembly somewhere, and not in the basic design.

The K1 sounds great, works great, when properly working!
