Tom, N0SS -

I have been repairing the Weller TCP series of soldering
stations since 1975 (long time).
My first restore "project" was 6 surplus Weller TCP
stations from the Collins assembly line (Cedar Rapids).
Of these 6, 5 had bad switch assemblies and 1 had a
bad heater element. The amateur that I repaired these
for was "very" pleased to have not purchased 6 brand new
stations for his small assembly line.

I would be happy to assist any of your builders who may
have acquired "eBay" units (WTCP, WTCPN, WTCPS or WTCPT)
for locating service parts (Weller distributors) or have
questions in troubleshooting their stations.
Some good buys for surplus WTCPT stations can be found
on eBay.

Still have my trusty WTCPN station (another Collins
surplus) that I restored in 1983. I picked up an
overheating EC1002 station at a hamfest in 1996 for
$25. This was repaired for less that $ 10 in parts - it
had a bad spring in the temperture assembly

My new Weller WES50 .. is still unused and in the box !!
