Goran,
In electrical trades here in USA, there are plastic coated spiral springs
used for splicing conductors inside an outlet box, or wall switch box. This
is referred to in the trades as a "wire nut", for to use it, you screw it
onto the pair of wires, (or even several,) that you wish to splice.

They come in sizes for the various electrical insulated standard solid or
stranded wires we use; and for outdoor use, come with silicone grease inside
a protective flap over the open wide end of the plastic cone.

This past weekend, I saw the latest variation on these. It is a conical
wire nut with a fork or ring terminal lug extending out the small end.
Allows solderless or crimpless joining of one or more wires to a ring
terminal, or fork terminal for connecting to a bolt such as on a insulated
barrier terminal strip in industrial hook ups of electrical cable.

I guess bolted splices are more common in your electrical system or perhaps
crimp on connections?
