Well, if it does it is firing right back into the transmitter output jack
and there are not too many stations to work in that direction. Hi.
Of course, there will be some radiation at the point if any, that the wire
has to bend to go down to the rig.  (single wire fed directly out of rig).

Maxima off the far open high impedance end, if it had much off the
transmitter end, I would not have had such a hard time working fellow 9M2
stations when my 400 footer pointed away from them out to sea.  Stations
that would have been S9 on a dipole were S5 or so off the near end close to
transmitter.  There was also lack of good counterpoise.  Wish I had that
space now to hang wire!
