Mike and All,

I have a proposal for an "improved" G5RV. Just take your twin lead all the
way to your antenna tuner and hook it up to your twin lead connection, or
put your balun there if you are using a KAT2. You may have to trim your
twin lead so that you don't have a current node at the tuner. The SWR on
the 31' twin lead and also the coax is high on some bands, and the loss is
high on the coax when the SWR is high. You also have losses on the twin
lead, but they are much less than on the coax. You probably could get a
good SWR with a 50 ohm resistor at the intersection of the twin lead and
coax too. It is really higher than indicated because of the loss in the coax.

An alternate for those who don't want to bring a twin lead into the
shack. Just use a short lead of coax, the shorter the better.
