[Elecraft] Solder pots?

If you have a solder gun, the kind that looks like a gun and is at least 100
watts you can make one easy. Use a lenght of #12 solid wire, uninsulated
and a fired handgun shell. Nine millimeter is deep enough but you could
also use a .38. Might find one at a gunshop that does reloading or ask if
they know someone that does that will give you one. Make sure the primer is
still in the shell and that it has been fired! Take the shell casing and
wrap the wire around it two or three times and put the ends in the solder
gun so the shell is about 3 inches from the end of the solder gun. Set the
gun down so the shell is upright and tie the trigger down. As it heats up
add solder until it is full. Safety glasses might be a good idea incase of
any splashes. There it is, a cheap solder pot the works fine.
