Tom, WB8ZRL asked me to post to EIDXA some particulars of our upcoming VP5
operation for ARRL CW.

There are four of us traveling from MN: Scott, K0MD, Fred, K4IU, Bill,
AC0W, and Tom, NY0V. We will arrive on Thursday March 14th at
Providenciales on the Turks and Caicos. Before and after the contest we
will use our own calls (VP5/*). All of the operating before the contest
will be on the WARC bands. During the contest, we will be operating as
VP5S. I have taken Monday to stay on the island and maybe even go fishing
or snorkeling. I return on Tuesday, Feb 19th.

I am the rookie in the group when it comes to contesting. Given that, I'll
be operating the slower times so the more experienced contesters can crank
on those 300 Q's/hr! 8-) I have always considered myself more of a DX'r
than a contester, though I do enjoy working a pile up from the other side.
It should be interesting in any case. I hope to learn from the pro's so I
can be a better operator. I have been practicing a bit using all the fun
little software programs and copying W1AW.

We would appreciate it if you guys work us on every band you can! I'll have
my zero-filter switched on!

73 Tom, NY0V
