[EIDXA] Minutes of 21 Jan 2011 meeting

The January meeting was opened by Steve Miller, N0SM.

38 Hams answered the CQ call.

Introductions were made all around.

Five new individuals were voted into membership. They are: Art, K0ACP; Ray, 
K9PYR; Joe, K8OM, Cheryl, KD0HUC, and David, W0IM. Congratulations to our 
new members !

A motion to support the upcoming T6PSE expedition to Afghanistan was made 
and seconded. The club decided to pass the hat and with additional funds 
from the club contribute a total of $150.00.


Joe, KC0VKN will help support the EIDXA web site in lieu of Brad K4RT who is 
no longer able to continue his effort.  Thanks to Brad for his long time 
support of our Web Pages !!

A short explanation to those present on how to use the EIDXA reflector was 
given by Joe, KC0VKN.

A presentation,  "Contesting for DXers" with a special eye toward working 
more Marathon stations was given by Rick, N0YY.  He described how to set 
goals and use contesting skills to increase DX entity totals.  Techniques 
used at PJ2T to generate high Q rates were provided. .  Logging programs and 
operating techniques were described.   Many thanks Rick for a very 
interesting and informative program.

Rich W3ACO, has transferred  $150.00 of club funds to the T6 DXpediton via 
his Paypal account on 22 Jan.
