Hi Richard,
I have two 722 VFO units, but before I did get both I ordered crystals
from Peterson Radio they make the z-17 holders that fit the crystal
socket pins on both the 720 and 723 transmitters. Make sure you check
the manual for the frequencies required, some are fundamental and some
are
multiplied. They are very reasonable in price. I use the Peterson for
all
my crystal needs, even for receivers, and military gear. Sorry I never
has a yaesu vfo so I can't help you there.

As for the Eico vfo units I got them inoperative, only had to change one
tube in one and the filter cap in the other. Then did the alignment and
they both turned out to be quite accurate and stable. I even use them on
CW in addition to AM operation, my transmitters each have an Eico 730
modulator for AM. I get great reports in both modes. I would have to say
a DEFINITE fun set of equipments.
