23/08/2003:  Look for Francois (F5JNE) and Pierre (F5JFU) to be QRV August
23rd as F5JNE/P from the Castle of Pisy (DFCF 89240, DDCF 8916, Postal Code
89420), located in Yonne department (89). Activity will begin at 06:00 UTC

23/08/2003:  Look for F5KCH/p to be QRV August 23rd from Marshall Vauban's
castle (DFCF 58051, DDCF 5815, Postal Code 58190), located in Nièvre
department (58). Activity will begin at 06:00 UTC on 40 meter SSB. All QSOs

23/08/2003:  Look for Kevin, MW3AFR/p, and Melfyn, GW1AKT/p, to be QRV
August 23rd from Point Lynas lighthouse (ARLHS WAL-019). Activity will be
mostly on 40 and 20 meters. QSL via home calls, direct or bureau. [Tnx

24/08/2003:  Four operators of the Scottish-Russian ARS: Jurij Phunkner
MM0DFV, John Scott GM0WRR, Ernie Lindsay GM0EZP and Ross Feilen MM0WED, have
planned a trip to the Isle of Skye (IOSA NH07, SCOTIA CN14), the largest
island of the Inner Hebrides Islands (IOTA EU-008). The expedition will use
a special call sign GB0SKY from August 24 till August 25, 2003.
Administratively the island is in a structure of Highland Council Area
(CAOSA: HL). The expedition will base near Skulamus settlement, which is on
the southeast fringe of the island, about Broadford Bay (WAB: NG62). Precise
co-ordinates of basing: 57� 14' 06" N and 05� 51' 42" W (QRA-Locator:
IO77bf). The group plans to work from four working positions on 160 through
10 meters, basically CW and SSB. One working position for digital modes only
will be possible. On Saturday 24.08.2003 the attempt will be attempted to
climb one of the island's summits - Sgurr na Coinnich (SOTA: GM/SI-020),
located southeast of main basing. Only MM0DFV/p will work on the summit with
the power of 5 W on 20 meters in the CW segment, about 14030 to 14040 kHz.
Co-ordinates of the summit: 57� 14' 12" N and 05� 42' 30" W (QRA-Locator:
IO77df). On Sunday 25.08.2003 there will be a short departure to the
Kylerhea Minor Light (ARLHS: SCO-116), located on southeast fringe of the
island, in the Kyle Rhea firth. Two stations MM0DFV/p and GM0WRR/p will work
from the lighthouse. Co-ordinates of the lighthouse: 57� 14' 12" N and 05�
39' 54" W (QRA-Locator: IO77ef). QSL cards for contacts with GB0SKY are

05/09/2003:  Look for UA0LD, RW0LE and RA0LIA to be QRV as UE0LZZ/p from the
Natural Reserve "Ussurijsky" (RFF-89, for the Russian Flora and Fauna award)
September 5th to 7th and September 12th to 14th. QSL via operator's

07/09/2003:  Alex, RU4HG, will be QRV as UE4HFF from the Samarskaya Luka
national park (RFF-140, for the Russian Flora and Fauna award) between
September 7th and 30th. He may also be active from RFF-037, which will be a
new reference. Activity will be on weekends, CW and SSB, and also on 2m /
70cm FM. QSL via RU4HG direct (QRZ.com), or bureau. [Tnx RU3GN]
