02/08/2003:  Peter, MM5PSL/p, should be active at Fair Isle South
Lighthouse, Shetland Islands, EU012, by 18:00 UTC 2nd August. He will be
there until 6th August looking for members and lighthouses. Being a small
island, 1 mile wide by 3 miles long, the electricity supply is switched off
in the early hours. If he dissapears, you'll know why. QSL cards will be
printed, depending on demand, after he returns to Mainland Shetland, so
expect a short delay. Leaving in about 30 minutes, winch the car aboard the
boat then a two hour journey. [Tnx MM5PSL]

02/08/2003:  Ron, WB3AAL, will be giving out 2 QSOs per each station
contacted during the Pan-American Lighthouse / Lightship Weekend August 2
and 3, 2003. The references will be Seven Foot Knoll Lighthouse (ARLHS
USA-750) and Lightship Chesapeake LV-116 (ARLHS USA-167). Both are in
Baltimore, MD. They should be on the air sometime between 13:00 and 14:00
UTC. They will be on the air until 21:00 UTC, then plan on taking a dinner
at this time. They should be back on the air around 00:00 UTC. Check out

03/08/2003:  On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of constitution and in
the 2nd anniversary from the Silent Key of I1EZN Ezio Pattoglio for many
years our President, the Section A.R.I. of Mondov� will be QRV August 3rd
from Torre dei Bressani o del Belvedere di Mondov� (DCI reference CN-160,
for the Italian Castles Award). They will use the call IQ1BP/p and activity
will start at approximately 10:30 UTC. QSL via IQ1BP, direct (Sezione A.R.I.

09/08/2003:  On August 9th and 10th, for the the "Open Cellars week-end" in
the Menetkou-Salon vineyard, the Cher Department, REF18hams will be active
on 40 and 80 meter CW and SSB from 07:30 UTC each day. Special callsign:
TM5VIN (VIN is wine in french language). A special QSL card will be issued.

14/08/2003:  The Russian Robinson Club plans to be active as R3RRC/9 between
August 14th and 25th from Polar Ural Mountains (RM-02-01 for Russian
Mountains Award). The activity will be on HF & VHF bands. See more

Lighthouse/Lightship Weekend (August 16-17th) as 4Z4DX/LH from Jaffa

ANTARCTIC NEWS -
Today (Saturday, August 2nd) we expect LU4DXU at about 19:30 - 20:00 UTC to
come up with some LU1Z stations on 14300 kHz. If condx at this time should
be poor there will be another try at about 2200 UTC. We will be joined by

EM1U is planning a portable operation from WABA G-18 (Wordie Hut) these
days. He is still looking for a suitable portable antenna which he hopes to
get from the polish base. Roman will keep us informed by email when this
