[Dxbase] New user help (sort of)

Greetings,

I purchased DXbase 2007 a few years back.  Spent a bunch of time keying my 
paper logs to try and convert to computer logging.  (old habits die hard) 
Then didn't do much except continue to log on paper.

I'm now back to DXbase hoping to make the transition but anything I might 
have learned a few years back I have forgotten.  So I am now trying to get 
my head around this program again.  My version is 1.05 and the program was 
sold to Neal since my last use of the program as I have read.

I need to upgrade to the latest version which I see is 1.10 so any questions 
I have or discussions I read on the list are pertinent.

A few questions:

Is there a problem going from 1.05 to 1.10? (any cost?)
Is there an operators tutorial or manual on use of DXbase for someone who is 
basically new to the software? (I looked for an FAQ or something to help on 
the web site with no luck)
I need to make sure I protect the work I have already done keying my paper 
logs (30 years worth) before doing any upgrades....suggestions?

I'm running Windows XP.
