Subject: [dxbase] V10 Delay and other things..

The V10 delay is caused by two major things: the business of selling computers; and, my health which has inversely degraded with the increase of sales of computers. Due to the law of unintended consequences, I retired and wanted to write software for ham stuff full time. I started making computers to help some people out who could not get their Flex radios to work well. I priced the components to build a $500 computer that was really fast to show how easy it was to build one for a small price tag. I was asked if I would make it for those not inclined to building their own. Flex Radio decided they would not offer a computer system tuned for PowerSDR and I filled that need. Over the past year, I shipped 250+ computers, the majority to commercial customers resulting from hams recommending me to their companies. Seeing that it takes 2-3 days to do a computer, test it and ship it, you can see I have been very very busy. I had to medically retire due to massive back problems so lifting and shipping computer boxes is not good for me. The more I do, the less I am capable of physically doing, but that means the backlog of unshipped orders increases. The increasing backlog makes me work when very injured, and you know where all this ends up. Coding and DXBase are my love, not my job, and my job has prevented me from spending prolonged time to work on v10. I will discontinue selling DXB until, and if, v10 is ready for prime time. I have said before that all dxb2007 customers will be licensed for v10 and will still uphold that when and if it comes out. Anyone who has purchased DXB2007 in the last year and are unsatisfied will cheerfully get a full refund, if they so desire. I have enjoyed working with many of you and regret that others have felt unsatisfactory service or performance from DXB.
