[Dxbase] Can't Close DXBase 2007

Bob,

Whenever I start having "unexplained" problems with Windows and they become
too much of an irritant, I have found the best solution is to "pop in" your
Windows CD, boot from it, format the hard drive, and then re-install Windows
and my programs. That has always fixed what is wrong.

That said, unless you are a real computer guru and know how to clean up the
registry file, it is a good idea to re-install Windows once a year anyway
(I always do it when my subscription to whatever anti-virus program on am
using that year expires - and sometimes more often).

I upgraded to DXBase v1.09 a few days after Neil released it. I was having
some unexplained problems with the computer (freeze ups, CW Skimmer not
working right, DXBase not shutting down correctly), so I decided it was as
good as time as any to dump Windows and start over.

My computer case was several years old and I went to Micro Center (in
Denver) to upgrade my case. I found out they were having a good sale on a
motherboards and processors, so I upgraded to a AMD Phenom IIx4 840
processor. After throwing the computer back together in a new case, I did a
clean install of Win 7 32 bit and the other programs I keep on that computer
(LP Bridge, TRX-Pan, CW Skimmer, SATPC32, and TQSL for LOTW).

Everything is working just great; no issues or problems with any of the
programs.

So, once you get irritated enough, I would bet a fresh install of Windows
would fix the problem.

Subject: [Dxbase] Can't Close DXBase 2007

This was posted a few days ago:

Using Windows XP. I have updatet my DXbase 2007 from v. 1.07 to 1.09.
Everything seems to work fine except for a problem to shut it down. When
attempt to close down DXbase the following message appear: "Encountered an
improper agrument".
The only way I am able to shut down my computer when DXbase 2007 is running
is to shut down Windows first and then allow  DXbase to close. When starting
up again I need to Initiate tabels as the program was not closed down
properly.
Can anyone out there help me out.

I may have missed it, but I did not see any replies.  I just upgraded to
2007 and have exactly the same problem using XP.  I tried both versions 1.08
and 1.09 and have the same problem with both.  DXBase 2006, which I have
been using for years, is running fine on the same computer.

I closed down all resident programs except my Avira antivirus program.

Any ideas?

Bob
