[Dxbase] Hidden dxbase2007.ini file

Similar thing happened here. Before I ran the install for 1.09 I did a
search for dxbase2007.ini and a XP search could not find it - so I installed
1.09 and everything seemed to work fine until I ran Autolotw - old incorrect
path names. I found Autolotw gets some of its path names from the
dxbase2007.ini file.

Then I went to C:\windows and realized all of the files including
dxbase2007.ini were Hidden. Once I un-hid them I renamed the current file
to dxbase2007old.ini then ran the 1.09 installer again and asked it to
repair the program. It created a new dxbase2007.ini file for 1.09 then I
moved all my .mdb files to c:\dxbase2007.

With a new dxbase2007.ini file I had to reenter all my old 1.07 user option
settings. Once that was done I ran Autolotw and all 4 directory paths were
now correct.

What I found out is that my old version 1.07 dxbase2007.ini file was working
with version 1.09 but was giving incorrect path names to Autolotw. I was
also getting an error message before when the program loaded up - it's now
gone.

When I rediscovered that the windows files on this Ham Radio only PC were
hidden I kicked myself. I forgot that Windows XP by default hides all the
system files including .ini files you send to the Windows directory.

All is working fine now...except for this sore spot. 73, Gary

Well I got it all running but heres the deal.. I was also having issues with
DxBase actually using 2 directories? When the new version was fired up it
was using files from the old version that was in the
c:\programfiles\scientific solutions\dxbase 2007 directory? I knew this
because i tried to rename the directory and no dice.
I installed it there when I first got win7 up and running so the new version
installed in c:\DxBase2007 .
I had to edit my windows dxb2007ini file and remove everything that pointed
to the old directory then i was able to rename the old directory and confirm
everything was A ok.
Then I just started autolotw and it came right up with the proper paths and
worked fine.
Interesting but it seems to be all god now

Just checked my own autolotw with ver 1.09 and when I changed the info about
where
the mdb file was located at -- no problems here ...

Be sure that you are typing in the correct info ..
