Yes. One of the hams on this list has tried to convince me to write a ham logger. I'm a LONG time software developer who HAS actually written "shrink wrap" vertical market software (which is what DXBase really is). I sat down, looked at the feature set of say dXBase, looked at what folks wanted added, looked at the prices people charge (which basically defines what people are willing to pay, plus or minus), and took a guess at what the market for logging software is, and a further guess of what I could realistically get market share wise
I'll give you a hint - the numbers work out in such a way, that it's a labor of love if you do it. There are a LOT of easier ways to make money. It's part of the reason I have not emailed Jack asking what he wants for the rights to dxBase.
