Gaston - I can't offer any help other than reassuring you that Dxbase 2007
runs fine here under Vista business edition. I have auto update since 2007
and dozens of MS updates to the OS have been installed without bothering
Dxbase at all. I do, of course, run as Administrator all of my legacy
programs that were designed for older operating systems such as earlier
versions of WIN. Unfortunately that includes Dxbase which has not had an
update in several years but is still useful.
My hobby is amateur radio, not computers, so I don't mind if the software
wants to "protect me" by having features that some consider too
paternalistic. But, that's just me. I don't know whether you will be
attending DARC Ham Radio in Friedrichshafen in June, but if so, please stop
by the ARRL stand and say hello.
